Becoming an electrical engineer is a very important and lucrative career path. Electronics run the world. From computers to appliances, cars, planes and the machines used in almost every industry, electricity is essential for most elements of the modern world to function. A class 1 or beginning engineer can reasonably expect to receive a minimum salary of between $45,000 and $55,000 a year to start. By the time they have the experience and knowledge to become a class 5 engineer they can earn well over $125,000 a year.
